Many people think you need a lot of money to start earning online, but that’s not true. I started with just a phone, internet access, and determination—and today I’m sharing how you can do the same.
At first, I was confused. So many websites promise money but end up being scams. After researching and testing, I found a few legit platforms that actually pay.
One of my first wins came from writing on platforms like Medium and Steemit, where I shared simple stories and earned from views and engagement. Later, I discovered sites like Remotasks and Wowzi, which offer online micro-jobs and M-Pesa payments.
I also learned the value of creating content. You can start a free blog (just like this one!) or post on social media platforms and slowly build your audience. The key is consistency.
Here’s what worked for me:
Writing about real-life experiences
Sharing links in WhatsApp groups and Facebook pages
Staying away from “get rich quick” scams
Learning basic digital skills (typing, using Canva, writing clearly)
I believe anyone can start. Even if you have no laptop or cash, your phone is enough to begin. Start small, stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to try.
